Just as love appears, so does the darkness. With her heart reaching out for one man, Brenna finds herself the target of an unknown stalker. Who is he? What does he want? How far will he go for her? Death is an option. Brenna discovers more than she bargained for and learns that the stalker will kill for her. It all comes down to decisions, and no matter what she chooses it will demand sacrifice and someone's blood.

Excerpt:

Brenna’s eyes fluttered open to see a blur of trees flying by.  Her head pounded and her stomach began to roll from the pain she felt and the fast-changing scenery.  A careful look at her surroundings told her she was in some older model car.  She inhaled deeply to calm herself, but confusion set in as her senses were assaulted by unfamiliar smells.  Her eyes widened in fright as terrifying memories began to flood her mind.  Turning slowly, afraid of what she might see, she gazed at the man behind the wheel of the speeding car.  She shivered when she saw he was just as repulsive as she remembered.  Who was he and what did he want with her?

Sensing her stare, a pair of dark, soulless eyes turned towards her.  A smile appeared on his unkempt face.  “Well, well, sleeping beauty awakes.”  Brenna’s stomach rolled again as she felt his eyes slide hungrily over her body.  She pushed up against the door in an effort to put as much distance between the two of them as she could, but he shook his head in disapproval.  “No need to be  dramatic.”  He turned his attention back to the road.  “We both know you won’t jump out.”

Guest Post:
Inspiration of the plot of the authors book.

Deep Connections started off from a dream of where two people made a supernatural deep connection. I kept having the dream, so a friend of mine suggested I write it down to stop having the dream. I did. As I wrote, the story began to change. Suddenly, she had a stalker and the whole thing had begun to morph. I was shocked.

My inspiration for the story was entirely my muse’s doing. She kept taking it down paths I never envisioned. Drove me nuts. Many times, I would just lie down and relax pretending I was watching a movie. I let the characters do what they do and I made notes. Many of the scenes came about that way.

But I think the biggest impact came from movies and books I had read over the years. I thought of what I liked about them. Did I like the fact that I didn’t know something? I love not knowing everything up front in a story. Therefore, I put that in my book. You don’t know exactly what is going on with anybody which is exactly what I wanted. Did I like the fact that the stalker didn’t just grab her, instead he played with her? Yes. That made it more intense. So, I made Creeper make it a game because in his arrogance he will succeed. Anything that I loved in other books, I tried to see how I could do it with my own story and in my own style.

So, what was the conclusion? I like romance that is intense yet prolonged. I like to have secrets throughout a story. I like to have the plot give me a sudden surprise and have me verbally asking what is going on. I like it where I have no idea how the book is going to end. I like to be in the dark. The result? Deep Connections. I have several readers say it was scary. I didn’t think it was, but the not knowing what Creeper was going to do next could be considered scary. I have several readers say that they love the fact that I don’t have explicit scenes in there as I make it all emotional and not where they jump immediately into the sack. It has to be sensual which one reviewer called it. It has to be something I would enjoy reading.
